Collaborative Law

If you are facing a situation in which you will be representing yourself, whether you are having a discussion with your spouse, a third party (such as a lawyer or Judge), or a mediator, it is essential that you identify your goals, know your facts and how the law applies to your situation, and know your legal rights and obligations before entering the negotiations. Preparation for negotiations includes the initial consultation described above and we will spend additional time obtaining and organizing your specific information and documents needed for your negotiations.

In some cases, third party opinions may be required, such as reports from accountants or property appraisers. We will use court sanctioned financial statements and forms that will summarize and organize all of the background information you will need to be well equipped to negotiate your case.

Computer programs that are well established and accepted in the family law field will be used to assist with calculating child or spousal support and division of family property.

You will be educated about the family law and how it impacts your personal situation and will have a detailed plan mapping out the options available to you in resolving the legal issues you are facing.

You will be asked to complete an Intake Form to assist in timely and efficient progress on your file.
